Devices

Exact runs in a browser on any device. Most subscribers use a PC or Mac with a full keyboard for complex work.

Many staff also use a tablet or phone in the field for quick tasks like recording time and case notes.

Browsers

Exact supports current versions of modern browsers. You don’t need special software to run Exact or print checks.

Chrome Edge Safari Firefox

Forms

The Forms feature merges client data into your documents. It needs Microsoft Word 2010 or later.

You can view and print forms on any Windows PC or Mac. Editing and creating forms requires a Windows PC. If you don’t have one, contact Exact Support.

Printer

Any printer works. We recommend a laser printer, because inkjet printing isn’t fully waterproof.

Most banks no longer require MICR ink. Check with yours. If it does, make sure your printer can use a magnetic ink cartridge.

Check stock

Exact prints on blank or pre-printed check stock. We recommend blank stock because it costs less, and Exact handles the check numbering.

It supports 3-to-a-page, single check-plus-voucher and z-fold layouts.

Need a vendor? Minuteman Press in Puyallup, WA has Exact’s specifications on file (253-841-3161, reference “Exact Stock”). Any vendor works.

Bank files

To use deposit file uploads and ACH payments, send the Exact team samples of your bank’s upload files before you subscribe. We’ll review them as part of setup.
